Woman says undelivered package was tracked bouncing back and forth between north Houston, Missouri City USPS facilities

Kassy Garza said her package bounced back and forth between the north Houston and Missouri City USPS processing centers before being sent back to Dallas.

HOUSTON — Delayed and undelivered mail has been an issue that for months has plagued the north Houston and Missouri City USPS processing centers with little to no explanation as to why.

Kassy Garza shared her experience with KHOU 11 News on Sunday.

"I’ve submitted my missing mail requests ... not a thing," Garza said.

She said she ordered a Christmas sweater on Nov. 29 and tracking showed it arrived at the north Houston center on Dec. 11.

"It looks like it was bouncing from Missouri City to north Houston until it just stopped tracking around Dec. 27 and then it started moving again the 24th of January and it stalled," Garza said.

It's now sitting in Dallas.

"The person I had ordered it from through Poshmark, they were located in Dallas so what I’m thinking is oh, no, they are sending it back and that is the last thing I need," Garza said.

The back and forth in similar cases has prompted an open letter from Rep. Troy Nehls to Postmaster General Louis Dejoy requesting a congressional briefing with his staff to address what's going on as people like Garza lose faith in what they're calling a once dependable federal service.

"Essentially, at the moment, I’m just saying I’m just going to not order anything until this gets, you know, figured out because a lot of online retailers do use USPS," Garza said.

USPS said it's adding an additional facility to improve services, meanwhile, Rep. Al Green plans to tour the facilities before the end of the month.
