MISSOURI CITY, Texas — Several social media posts, as well as messages from viewers to KHOU 11 News, have reported issues with one Houston-area post office.
They complain that their packages were routed through a United States Postal Service processing center in Missouri City but have been stuck there for days and sometimes weeks.
One Conroe woman said she's still waiting on packages that should have been delivered days ago for her online business. Her tracking still shows the packages at the Missouri City location.
"They're all Christmas images and if I don't get them in time, then it's going to be money out of my small business that I'm not going to be able to use this season," Ruby Alvarez said.
The South Houston Local Processing Center in Missouri City isn't open to the public, there's no storefront and no direct phone number for the public to reach anyone working there.
It's been a struggle for people like Margaret Scharnberg, who has been waiting for a package since Dec. 5. She got a call after the KHOU 11 story aired Wednesday night.
"They contacted me and told me that this Missouri City post office is nothing but an overflow warehouse right now. They probably have at least 100 or more bins that have not been unloaded, until mine gets loaded, I will not get a package," Scharnberg said.
A USPS representative said the facility is fully staffed and equipped, but right now, they're just way behind.
USPS said that if you're having issues, you can reach out to them by calling 1-800-275-8777 or going to their website by clicking here.
