HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — Sheriff’s deputies believe a Jeep driver failed to yield the right of way when she collided with a motorcyclist, killing him.
The incident happened at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday on FM 1960 south of Mills in northwest Harris County.
Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office say the woman driving the Jeep was heading eastbound when she attempted to make a u-turn into the westbound lanes. That’s when she collided with a rider on a black motorcycle heading westbound.
The rider was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene, deputies say.
The Jeep’s driver was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
The investigation is on-going. At this time no charges have been announced in the case.
During the crash cleanup and investigation, a woman was detained after driving around the barricade in a bizarre incident that was captured on video. The woman had two children in the back of her car, but no injuries were reported.
