Caught on video: Woman speeds around deputies investigating fatal crash on FM 1960

A camera crew for KHOU 11 was recording when the woman drove around the barricade with two small kids in her car.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A Cypress woman was taken into custody after she went around a police barricade at the scene of an earlier fatal crash.

Chaundee N. Amine, 26, now faces multiple charges for the incident, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez. It happened around midnight Thursday night on FM 1960 south of Mills.

A camera crew for KHOU 11 was recording when Amine drove around the police barricade. She then jumped a median and briefly went the wrong way on FM 1960 before making a turn.

Sheriff’s deputies investigating the fatal crash quickly jumped in their patrol units and managed to stop the woman, who had two small children, ages five and two, in the car with her.

The children have been placed in the care of Texas Child Protective Services.
