Last chance! Unclaimed Mega Millions ticket in Houston worth $1 million

Check your old tickets. The Texas Lottery said someone bought the ticket in March but they never claimed the prize!

HOUSTON — Time is running out for the person who bought a million-dollar Mega Millions ticket in Houston in March but never claimed the cash.

The winning $1 million ticket technically expires on Sept. 15 but since that's a Sunday and Texas Lottery offices are closed, the winner must claim the prize in person by 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13.

Editor's note: The above video originally aired in August.

The ticket sold for the March 19, 2024 drawing matched all five numbers, but missed the Mega Ball. The numbers for that drawing were 24, 46, 49, 62 and 66 with the Mega Ball of 7.

The winning ticket was bought at All-Season Food at 2411 Antoine Drive in Houston.

If you’re the one with that ticket, you can also claim the prize by mail by filling out this form and mailing it in. It must be postmarked prior to Sept. 15 and sent to Texas Lottery Commissioner, ATTN Austin Claim Center, P.O. Box 16600, Austin, Tx. 78761-6600.

“We hope to celebrate the Texas Lottery player who became a $1 million prize winner in the March 19, 2024, Mega Millions drawing,” said Ryan Mindell, executive director of the Texas Lottery. “We encourage our Mega Millions players to take another look at their tickets, check the numbers again, and if your numbers match, sign the back of the ticket before claiming your prize at a Texas Lottery claim center.”

If the money’s not claimed in time, it goes back to the state for programs approved by state legislators.

Another lucky local winner who recently bought a ticket in Sugar Land just won the massive $800M Mega Millions jackpot.
