HOUSTON — A million-dollar Mega Millions ticket was sold in Houston, but time’s running out for the winner to claim the prize.
The ticket sold for the March 19 drawing matched all five numbers, but missed the Mega Ball. The numbers for that drawing earlier this year were 24, 46, 49, 62 and 66 with the Mega Ball of 7.
Whoever bought the winning ticket picked it up at All-Season Food at 2411 Antoine Drive in Houston.
The $1 million-winning ticket expires on Sept. 15, but because that falls on a weekend, the in-person claim must be made by 5 p.m. on Sept. 13.
If you’re the one with that ticket, you can also claim the prize by mail by filling out this form and mailing it in. It must be postmarked prior to Sept. 15 and sent to Texas Lottery Commissioner, ATTN Austin Claim Center, P.O. Box 16600, Austin, Tx. 78761-6600.
“We hope to celebrate the Texas Lottery player who became a $1 million prize winner in the March 19, 2024, Mega Millions drawing,” said Ryan Mindell, executive director of the Texas Lottery. “We encourage our Mega Millions players to take another look at their tickets, check the numbers again, and if your numbers match, sign the back of the ticket before claiming your prize at a Texas Lottery claim center.”
If the ticket isn’t claimed by the 180th day following the drawing, whoever bought the ticket forfeits the prize. If the money’s not claimed, it goes back to the state for programs approved by state legislators.
