HOUSTON — The rest of the week and weekend will feature tons of sunshine and gradually warming temperatures in the 70s.
By Sunday, temperatures will get back into the low 80s with a slight increase in humidity. Despite this, sunshine and dry conditions are expected to last at least through the start of next week.
That brings us to Thanksgiving. Right now it does look like another cold front will approach the area by the middle of next week. The timing is still uncertain for this front, but right now it appears that a few showers are possible for Wednesday night into Thanksgiving Day. Widespread heavy rain does not look likely and temperatures will likely be in the 70s. Behind this front temperatures will turn colder into the start of December.
Drought report
The wet pattern we've had has done wonders for our drought monitor. This week Southeast Texas has come down from a severe drought to a moderate drought. The rain this weekend will continue to help offset the 35 dry days we had at the end of September into all of October. Reports are issued weekly, and the next update will be released Thursday.
Temperatures will slowly start to recover by next weekend, with highs in the low 80s next Sunday.
