A man is charged with murder, accused of stabbing a woman to death at an apartment complex just off North Braeswood Boulevard in the Meyerland area.
Michael E. West is now facing a murder charge. He was arrested overnight after Houston police spent over eight hours working to figure out what happened.
It happened on Saturday. Police arrived at the complex at around 2:30 p.m. We heard from them just before 10 p.m., when they provided more details of what happened.
“A group of friends were concerned about a female friend of theirs, so they came to check on her at her apartment complex,” said Commander Estrada with the Houston Police Department. “And when they went inside, I found a male that had a gun and was threatening her. And the friends that came in, so they fled the scene, and they call the police when the officers did arrive, they found the female deceased inside of her apartment and the male was gone.”
Police later found West and arrested him. Court documents obtained by KHOU 11 detail how the woman identified as Lorencia Lewis died. The documents say West stabbed her with a knife.
They also say West threatened a witness with a gun, allegedly pointing it at the witness and pulling the trigger several times.
On Sunday night, candles and flowers were outside of the victim’s apartment.
As for West, he is due in court on Tuesday.
