HOUSTON — A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with capital murder in connection with a deadly shooting at a northwest Houston park last month.
The teen was arrested Tuesday.

Jaquez Moore, 24, Deric Ward, 16, and the 16-year-old suspect were at Bauer Pocket Park, which is near the intersection of Hammerly Boulevard and Blalock Road, on Sept. 12 just after 1 p.m. when a fight broke out.
The teen suspect opened fire, according to investigators. Moore and Ward were pronounced dead at the scene.
Initially, investigators believed the motive behind the shooting was robbery but it's unclear what was stolen from the victim. They said they believed that Ward and the gunman were there to rob Moore but it's unclear if investigators think the teen suspect killed both Moore and Ward or just one of them.
Witnesses at the park said they heard the gunshots.
"Went outside and there was some kid in a hoodie with a backpack on, carrying a gun in his hand, it was pretty crazy," witness Tuan Ho told KHOU 11 News on the day of the shooting.
One witness said he saw the possible shooter touch one of the victims, presumably to see if he was dead.
"He shot the guy, walked all the way out of the park, still has his gun out in broad daylight then walked all the way back over to the body," witness Chris Robinson said. "They seemed pretty casual, I guess, about the whole thing, they didn’t run."
The suspect's identity hasn't been revealed since he's a juvenile. It's unclear when he's going to make his first court appearance.
