Bond raised for man accused of multiple sexual assaults in north Houston

The Harris County District Attorney's Office said that two different men are charged in separate and unrelated cases.

HOUSTON — Two men were charged in a series of violent sexual assaults in north Houston.

Last week, Houston police announced they arrested one man in connection to multiple sexual assault cases in the area of West Gulf Bank and West Little York Road. On Friday, a second suspect was arrested, according to a spokesperson with the Houston Police Department.

Prosecutors said the two men, Denzeill Sneed and Jayden Demouchet, are both facing similar charges though their crimes are not connected. Authorities believe the two men separately targeted at least five victims.

Sneed appeared in court Monday morning where we learned that he is charged with two counts of sexual assault regarding incidents that happened on August 14 and November 8. Sneed was the man Houston police said was caught on surveillance video where the sexual assaults happened. His bond sits at $600,000.

Demouchet did not appear in court Monday, but prosecutors did tie him to three sexual assault cases, including two that happened on Friday just before his arrest. He faces five felony charges, including attempted sexual assault, two cases of aggravated sexual assault, and two cases of burglary with intent to commit another felony. He appeared in probable cause court on Saturday where his bond was initially set at $2.1 million. That has since been dropped to $1.1 million.

The Harris County District Attorney's Office said that in both cases, the men present an extreme risk to the community.

"I think it's definitely shocking to your conscience to hear these sorts of things happening," said Jay Gordon with the district attorney's office. "The most important thing is HPD has been working very diligently on these cases."

Prosecutors said it's possible Demouchet may have targeted other victims and more charges may be coming in the future.
