HOUSTON — On Wednesday, Houston police gave an update on a series of sexual assaults that happened on the north side in recent months.
There have been at least five sexual assaults in the West Gulf Bank Road area since mid-August, according to police. Investigators initially thought the same man was responsible for the attacks, but on Wednesday, said they think there are actually two men responsible and there are possibly more victims.
Authorities initially believed the attacks were connected due to the proximity in which they happened.
Investigators said one suspect was arrested and charged in connection with two of the attacks. They said they believe Denzeill Sneed, 29, is responsible for attacks on Aug. 14 and on Nov. 8.
At a hearing in probable cause court Thursday morning, it was revealed the Sneed is charged in at least two rapes. On of the victims was allegedly attacked in her own home just after she had walked her daughter to her school bus stop. His bond was set at $100,000 for each of the two cases.
Sneed was taken into custody in the Acres Homes area, police said.
The other three attacks are believed to have been committed by another man. Police have released a surveillance image of the unidentified suspect who's believed to be responsible for three attacks in October.
Investigators said all of the victims were Hispanic women but they're not sure if that's a motive in the crimes.
Investigators said they don't think Sneed and the other suspect are connected. They said the victims in the reported cases picked the men out of photo lineups. Police said victims picked out Sneed in the August attack and the November attack. They said the other suspect was identified in the three attacks in October.
They also said they do have DNA evidence and it's being fast-tracked through the forensic science center.
Authorities said they will interview Sneed now that he's in custody.
The attacks
The most recent attack happened Friday morning at an apartment complex off West Little York. Houston police said a woman was assaulted and her attacker got into her unit through an unlocked door.

The first attack happened at an apartment complex on West Gulf Bank. Police said the man got into a woman's unit and assaulted her at 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 14.
In the following months, police said four more women were attacked -- all in the 5300 block of West Gulf Bank Road. All of the attacks happened at women's apartments and police said the suspect wore a ski mask and had a gun. They said he forced his way inside after they opened the door when he knocked.
Police are asking for the public's help in catching the predator before he assaults another woman. You're asked to call Houston police with any information that could help. Anyone who might have been victimized is asked to call the special victim's unit at 713-308-1180.
