HOUSTON — An 18-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting multiple women went before a judge in probable cause court Saturday morning.
Jayden Jercoyus Demouchet, 18, faces five felony charges, including attempted sexual assault, two cases of aggravated sexual assault, and two cases of burglary with intent to commit another felony.
In court, it was alleged that the 18-year-old on Friday had attacked a woman at an apartment on Little York that he had seen taking her trash out. He reportedly was not wearing any pants or underwear and tried to take the woman's clothes off, but the victim's sister-in-law stopped him.
The man took off but police were able to track him down and identify him with the help of surveillance video and witnesses.
While officers were at that scene, they were reportedly approached by another woman claiming she had been sexually assaulted.
That woman told police she heard a knock on her door and thought it was her neighbor. That's when Demouchet is accused of forcing his way into her apartment with a gun, grabbing her by the neck and signaling to her to be quiet. It was revealed in court that the woman's children were in the apartment.
When Demouchet was captured, authorities said he admitted to raping the woman.
Authorities said there was a third victim Demouchet sexually assaulted on October 17. He's accused of forcing his way into the woman's home with a gun, which he held to her head, before he forced her to take off her clothes and perform sex acts on him. He reportedly also admitted to raping this woman.
The judge in probable cause court said Demouchet was an extreme danger to the public and set his bond at $100,000 for the attempted sexual assault charge and $500,000 for each of the sexual assault and burglary charges. That comes to a total bond amount of $2.1 million.
Should he make bond, Demouchet is to not have any contact with the victims. He won't be able to possess any firearms and will be under GPS monitoring and house arrest 24/7. The judge also issued a protective order for each of the victims.
The court appearance comes just a day after Houston police said they arrested a second suspect in connection to a series of sexual assaults in the West Gulf Bank area. Police would not confirm whether Demouchet was the suspect arrested in that case.
