HOUSTON — Now is a good time to have your eye on the weather as you and your family prepare for Thanksgiving week.
One thing to note, a cold front is headed our way at the start of Thanksgiving week and it will be accompanied by rain, but the good news, conditions should clear out by Turkey Day.
Thanksgiving week weather timeline
Monday
Showers will be on the way out behind a cold front Monday morning. The day should trend drier but clouds will stick around with temperatures in the 60s.
Tuesday
Clouds will gradually clear for the sun as temperatures turn cooler. Highs will be in the low 60s with lows in the 50s.
Wednesday
The cold front and rain will move toward the southeast U.S., bringing a quiet end to the week. Morning temperatures will be in the 50s with skies clearing. High temperatures will reach the low 60s.
Thanksgiving Day
Thanksgiving Day across Houston will feel "fall-like" with a chilly morning. If you are heading out to the 74th Annual H-E-B Thanksgiving Day Parade, bring those jackets because temperatures will be in the 50s and 40s. Expect occasional sunshine with afternoon temperatures in the 60s.
Black Friday and the weekend
Expect mostly sunny skies with a warming trend by the end of the week. Conditions will be perfect for shopping and outdoor activities. High temperatures will be in the upper 60s with mostly sunny skies.
High temperatures through the next 10 days will once again be a "roller coaster ride" through next week. As temperatures will reach the upper 70s for the weekend before Thanksgiving week, our next cold front will bring chilly temperatures back into the picture by Sunday and Monday.
