HOUSTON — Check your flight, if you're flying southwest Wednesday.

The airline has cancelled hundreds of flights. As of 5:30 a.m., there were about five canceled flights at Hobby Airport Wednesday morning. It's not clear if they're maintenance or weather-related.

And this isn’t just a problem for travelers here in Houston are facing. It’s affecting flights coast to coast.

Southwest has already canceled nearly 400 flights. That’s about 10 percent of its operations. Tuesday, the airline canceled 191 flights and delayed nearly 900.

They say it's because they are struggling to repair mechanical problems on their planes. The company says they’re requiring all hands on-deck to address the maintenance issues.

But despite that policy, they’re still struggling to get back to their normal operation.

Now, last night Southwest apologized to customers while blaming the mechanics union. The union responded saying they're being scapegoated.

One thing that is for sure is it’s going to be another long day for some folks flying Southwest Wednesday.

Be sure to check your flight before heading to the airport.
