HOUSTON - The construction that was scheduled this weekend on the West Dallas bridge over I-45 North has been rescheduled.
According to TxDOT, a total closure of all northbound and southbound mainlanes of I-45 between I-10 and US 59 will take place on Monday, December 5 at 9 p.m. until December 6 at 5 a.m. Work will resume on Friday December 9 at 9 p.m. until December 12 at 5 a.m.
Motorists traveling on I-45 northbound will need to detour to US 59/ IH 69 northbound to I-10 westbound to re-enter I-45 northbound. Motorists traveling southbound on I-45 will need to detour to I-10 eastbound to US 59 southbound to re-enter I-45 southbound.
The West Dallas Bridge will remain closed until work is complete. Local law enforcement will be on site to assist with traffic control. Motorists should expect delays and are strongly encouraged to seek alternate routes.
The West Dallas Bridge, the Houston Avenue Bridge and the Houston Avenue and Allen Parkway Entrance ramps are set to reopen in late December/ early January, according to TxDOT.
