HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A man was found dead in his vehicle Monday after a crash on the connector ramp from the westbound lanes of Beltway 8 to I-45, according to Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office officials.
They said it appeared that the man had been shot.
The connector ramp to the northbound and southbound lanes of the North Freeway was shut down while the investigation took place. It's unclear how long the investigation was expected to take, but the ramp was still closed as of 9 p.m. and Houston TranStar said the crash was reported just before 7 p.m.
There was only one vehicle involved in the crash and authorities didn't say if any witnesses remained at the scene.
