TOMBALL, Texas — There's a word for people like Tanner Jones. We just don't know what that word is.
Jones, of Tomball, admits he spent more than $107,000 on baseball cards of his favorite player: Jose Canseco. He accumulated roughly 5000 cards of the former slugger.
He's chronicled his collecting adventures in a new book, "Confessions of a Baseball Card Addict" (Independently published, $14.34).
Jones doesn't believe he's an addict, however. He used money from other baseball card sales to satisfy his Canseco collection. He even paid for a private meeting with Canseco.
He later sold his Canseco collection and even managed to make a profit.
The best word to describe Jones? Some may use the word, "lucky."
