HOUSTON — The final injury report for the Houston Texans is out and it’s got some good news and bad news for Monday’s game against the in-state rival Cowboys.
First, the bad news. Defensive end Will Anderson Jr. has officially been ruled out with an ankle injury. It’ll be the second straight game that last year’s AFC Defensive Rookie of the Year will miss. On top of that, Defensive tackle Folorunso Fatukasi will be out with a foot injury and tackle Blake Fisher will miss the game because of a concussion.
The good news – wide receiver Nico Collins was a full participant in practice on both Friday and Saturday, so Houston quarterback CJ Stroud will have his No. 1 target to throw to. Collins has been out since being injured in the October 6 game against Buffalo at NRG Stadium.
Stroud has been nursing an injury himself. The Houston quarterback is dealing with a hand issue, but was a full participant in practice Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The Cowboys have injury issues of their own. Starting quarterback Dak Prescott is out with a hand injury and top receiver CeeDee Lamb was limited in practice on Saturday with a back injury.
Houston is 6-4 on the season and in first place in the AFC South. The Texans are on a two-game slide after back-to-back losses to the New York Jets and Detroit. Dallas is 3-6 and in third place in the NFC East. The Cowboys have lost four straight games and are winless at home this season.
The game is Monday night in Arlington.
