HOUSTON — Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud has been on fire this season and on Thursday, the league recognized him for it with two more awards.
Stroud was named both AFC Offensive Player of the Month and NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month in November. The Texans’ star signal-caller becomes just the second rookie quarterback in league history to earn AFC Offensive Player of the Month honors.
In November, Stroud was 106 for 154 passing for 1,466 yards to go with 10 touchdowns and four interceptions. He led the team to a 3-1 record, including two games which were capped off with game-winning drives.
One of those game-winning drives came against Tampa Bay. Stroud threw for 470 yards in that game, which was a new record for yards thrown by a rookie quarterback. He also became only the third player ever to throw for 470 or more yards, five touchdowns and zero interceptions in a single game.
The following week, he led the Texans to another game-winning drive, this time on the road against Cincinnati. With that win, Stroud became the only rookie in the last four decades to lead teams to game-winning drives in the final two minutes of back-to-back games.
Through 11 games, Stroud has thrown for 3,266 yards, which is the most ever for any NFL quarterback through their first 11 games.

Stroud will have to make room on the mantle for these latest two awards. He’s already won two others with AFC Player of the Week honors in week 9 and NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month in September.
