The Manvel Mavericks and the Elkins Knights have played very well in 2014 and their hard work is being noticed.
In the latest high school football polls from the Associated Press, both schools clock in at number 9 in their respective polls.
Manvel is coming off a 42-17 victory over North Shore on Friday night.
Elkins had to use two touchdown drives from quarterback Jonathan Giles to rally past Lamar 21-13 on Saturday.
Several local schools also find themselves in the polls. Katy continues to hold steady at #2 after their dismantling of Fort Bend Travis. The Tigers receiver 7 first place votes as they try to catch defending champ Allen.
The Pearland Oilers come in at #8 in the Class 6A poll.
