HOUSTON — If you haven’t voted yet because of an expired driver’s license or other acceptable forms of identification, here’s some good news. You very well may be able to cast your ballot.
According to the state, you can still vote with an expired license or ID, as long as it hasn't been expired for longer than four years. That’s for voters who are between the ages of 18 and 69.
For voters who are 70 years of age or older, acceptable forms of photo IDs can be expired for any length of time to vote.
Here are all of the acceptable forms of ID for you to be able to vote.
- Texas Driver License issued by Texas DPS
- Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS
- Texas Personal Identification Card issued by DPS
- Texas Handgun License issued by DPS
- United States Military Identification Card containing the person’s photograph
- United States Citizenship Certificate containing the person’s photograph
- United States Passport (book or card)
