MANVEL, Texas — The days leading up to the election have been full of false rumors, misinformation and outright lies. Now, the City of Manvel in Brazoria County warns voters that it's happening there.
The Manvel Police Department said there's no truth to text messages that claim voting machines are malfunctioning.
"We have been made aware of a fraudulent election text that claims to be from 'Manvel City Hall.' This message DID NOT come from the City of Manvel," MPD posted late Monday.
The police department said the City of Manvel is not conducting the election and Brazoria County has not reported issues with broken voting machines.
They said texts claiming you need to vote again are bogus.
