FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas — The race for Fort Bend County Precinct 3 commissioner has garnered significant attention in recent months.
Incumbent Republican Andy Meyers is being challenged by Democrat Taral Patel.
Patel faces criminal charges for allegedly using a fake Facebook profile to post racist comments about himself to gain sympathy among voters.
Meyers has served as county commissioner since January 1997 and has lived in the county since 1976.
Patel previously served as Fort Bend County Judge KP George’s chief of staff before running for the Precinct 3 commissioner’s seat.
