UTICA, Mich. -- With nearly a dozen officers at the scene,
authorities in Michigan arrested a Detroit-area man who is charged
with threatening to fly an airplane into a building in Houston.
The FBI says Sean Donnelly of Utica made the threat Thursday
while talking by phone to a Chase Bank representative who was at a
company call center in Houston.
Donnelly was arrested Friday at his home in Macomb County, about
20 miles north of Detroit. Donnelly is a registered sex offender in Michigan and was twice convicted of felony arson.
FBI agent Juan Herrera says Chase employees were frightened by
the threat, especially after a man recently crashed a plane into an
Austin, Texas, building that housed the Internal Revenue Service.
The FBI affidavit says Donnelly was upset with Chase over a
property appraisal. He remains in custody until a detention hearing
Monday. A message seeking comment was left with his lawyer.
