HOUSTON A man recently arrested in connection with a La Porte cold case involving a pair of 1997 Murders is set to be extradited back to Harris County.
La Porte Police Department investigators assisted in the arrest of Gordon Craig Houser for the capital murder offense on Jan. 31, 2014. The arrest was the result of a Jan. 16 Grand Jury sealed indictment for two separate counts of the offense.
La Porte residents Charles and Kathy Hayes were killed on Sept. 27, 1997. When the indictment was unsealed on Jan. 30, deputies from the US Marshalls Office and Polk County Arkansas Sheriff s Office traveled to Houser s residence in Wickes, Arkansas where he was placed in custody without incident.
Houser was being held with no bond at the Arkansas Polk County Jail.
