BRAZORIA COUNTY, Texas — Multiple agencies are working to put out a large wildfire in Brazoria County, according to the Brazoria County Fire Marshal's Office.
The fire is within the Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge near County Road 227 and County Road 208.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the fire is 90% contained.
At this time, no homes are threatened and no injuries have been reported. There is no threat to livestock.
The fire marshal said they believe it was accidental, caused by a vehicle either dragging a chain or some mechanical issues with the vehicle, causing sparks.
The Brazoria County Fire Departments, the Brazoria County Fire Marshal’s Office and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service responded.
The fire is burning in this area.
