TEXAS, USA — Three-year-old Mareck Gomez might be one of the youngest business owners in the world.
He started selling ice pops this summer in the middle of the Texas heatwave.
Mareck runs the M&M Paletas cart.
It all started when Mareck's lust for toys started to impact his parents' money. He wanted a new toy every time they went to the store. It added up quickly and they realized they couldn't afford one every time.
"My husband had come up with the idea that he could have anything he wants as long as he's willing to work for it, so let's teach him how to earn money," Katie Gomez said.
So, M&M Paletas was born.
One M is for Mareck and the other is for his brother, Malik.
The toddler even has a plan with his money.
"I ask him every time how much do you want to put in the bank and he's pretty consistent on the amount. It's usually about 30%," his mother said.
He's also learning about setting goals. Whenever he and his family visit the store, they let him pick out a toy that he can only buy if he gets enough money.
They're lessons his parents hope to stay with him forever.
"You can have anything you want in life as long as you're willing to work for it," Katie said.
