GRANBURY, Texas -- Strong showers returned to Parker and Hood counties on Thursday evening, forcing some residents to think about evacuating while others encountered high water and slippery roads.

Dramatic video posted to Facebook showed a truck being violently pushed downstream as it attempted to cross Stroud Creek.

The Stroud Creek Estates has long faced flooding issues, with only one road in and out of part of the subdivision.

A still from the video, which has since been removed.

News 8 profiled the Leslie family just last month, when they said conditions were becoming unbearable.

Kirstie Leslie said she was again stranded on Thursday because the normally-quiet creek rose to over six feet and looked more like a river.

"It's scary, yet again," she told News 8 via a FaceTime call. "People are risking their lives."

She says she advised the occupants of the truck not to risk crossing. Even though the vehicle was swept off the road, the people inside and a dog made it out OK.

We spoke to the teen who shot the video on Thursday night. He told us the two people inside left before police and rescue crews arrived at the scene.

He also told us he thinks he is going to miss his high school graduation on Friday because of the flooding in the neighborhood.

Further up the Brazos River, residents in the community of Rio Brazos on the edge of Parker County could be seen quickly packing up valuables on Thursday evening.

Some said they thought more rain will only make conditions worse and they were fearful of thieves.

Parker County Sheriff's Deputies were patrolling the area.

At least six homes were surrounded by water, with the river threatening at least another dozen.
