HOUSTON — One person is dead after what the Houston Fire Department said were reports of pipes collapsing at Port Houston Wednesday.
The Houston Fire Department posted about it to X at 12:21 p.m., confirming the death. An official with HFD told KHOU 11 that they were responding to reports of pipes that had collapsed on a worker.
The Houston Fire Department is asking people to avoid the area.
Lisa Ashley-Daniels, director of public relations for the Port of Houston Authority, said the person killed worked with AllTrans Terminal Companies, a company leasing space from the port.
