HCSO: Teen struck, killed while skating in poorly lit area

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A 19-year-old pedestrian, who was skating in a poorly lit area, died after being struck by a car in north Harris County Friday morning.

This happened at 6:30 a.m. in the 19400 block of the East Hardy Road just north of FM 1960.

"This section is poorly lit, male is said to have been rollerblading with earbuds on. All factors will be reviewed. Driver remained at the scene," Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said

Both north and south lanes are closed at this time.
