HCSO: Innocent driver killed when man leading police on chase slams into her SUV

The suspect exited Grand Parkway and crashed into the victim's vehicle, killing her.

HOUSTON — A police chase ended in a deadly crash in northwest Harris County Friday afternoon. Investigators say an innocent driver was killed.

At a news conference shortly after 6 p.m., Tommy Diaz, assistant chief with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, gave an update. He said that at 2:54 p.m., a Texas DPS aircraft spotted a vehicle that had been reported stolen and asked for help from the ground.

Early Saturday morning, the sheriff's office identified the Driver as Bryson Ryan McClure.

HCSO responded to the DPS call and found the vehicle -- a white pickup with a motorcycle in the back -- and tried to pull the driver over. McClure reportedly took off and led deputies on a nine-minute chase that covered around 14 miles.

At one point, officials said McClure exited the Grand Parkway and slammed into an SUV on the driver’s side.  A woman who was in that SUV was killed.

McClure was injured and taken to the hospital where he was said to be stable.

The truck was reportedly stolen out of San Antonio.
