TEXAS CITY, Texas A jury on Tuesday sentenced a Stephenville man to seven years in prison after convicting him of sexually assaulting a teenage girl.
Russell Reed Johnson, 36, was convicted Monday of aggravated sexual assault of a child, stemming from a July 29, 2009, incident with a girl, then 13, at a house in Texas City.
The girl met Johnson through a church in Stephenville. She went with Johnson s family on vacation to a family friend s house in Texas City, according to court testimony that began Aug. 21.
The sleeping arrangements included the defendant sleeping between two teenage girls, prosecutor Virginia Jones told the jury during the opening day of testimony.
