MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas — A man riding a motorcycle through the Sam Houston National Forest was killed in a crash Monday afternoon.

It happened just before 3 p.m. on FM 149 near FM 1375.

According to the Texas DPS, the victim slammed into a silver Nissan Murano turning onto FM 149 from FM 1375. They said the driver of the Nissan failed to yield the right of way.

The 72-year-old man on the Harley Davidson motorcycle was rushed to HCA Conroe Hospital but he didn't survive. His name hasn't been released.

The Nissan driver and a passenger weren't hurt.

There have been a number of deadly crashes on FM 149 in recent years, including some involving motorcycles. In Feb., an off-duty Montgomery firefighter, 24, was killed there when he lost control in the same area as Monday's crash.
