ANGLETON, Texas — A missing Angleton High School cheerleader has been found safe and is back with family, according to the Angleton Police Department.

No other information on her disappearance was provided. Her name has been removed from this article for her privacy.

The teen was last seen at school on Tuesday, September 3.

Police said they were investigating the disappearance after the 17-year-old's mother told police her daughter did not show up for a planned event on Tuesday. The mother said it was possible that her daughter was with her boyfriend heading to Austin.

In a social media post shared by Angleton PD, Alex Bregman, and others, the mother said her daughter left school sometime after 10 a.m. on Tuesday. The junior left without her car or the belongings inside, including her phone, keys, and backpack.

According to police, surveillance video showed the teen getting in a white Toyota Corolla at 10:02 a.m.

Police said the mother called police after her daughter missed her fourth period and didn't show up for a planned event.
