HOUSTON — Multiple people were injured Thursday when a Houston METRORail train crashed into several vehicles near the Astrodome, according to authorities.
It happened along the Red Line at Greenbriar and Old Spanish Trail around 3 p.m. Authorities said two vehicles were involved in a crash on the tracks and then were struck by the train, which then pushed the debris into two other vehicles.
According to METRO officials, five people were injured and taken to area hospitals in unknown conditions. They said three of them were train passengers and two were drivers of vehicles involved in the incident.
