MARLIN, Texas — A Missouri City man is dead after falling into a lake near Waco, according to police in Marlin, Texas.
The 60-year-old man died Tuesday after Marlin police received a call about a possible drowning just before 9 a.m. The caller told police that they and the man couldn't swim.
Police said the man slipped and fell into the lake while he was fishing with a friend at Marlin City Lake, which is about 30 miles southeast of Waco.
A constable pulled the man out of the lake, but police said he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man has not yet been identified.
