HOUSTON — Music icon Janet Jackson is coming to Houston!
The "Rhythm Nation" singer will be the headliner for the World AIDS Day event that's happening on Dec. 1 at NRG Arena.
Choreographer, director and producer Debbie Allen will also be in attendance, as well as Emmy Award-winning actor Blair Underwood.
The event is being put on by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), which is a global nonprofit organization providing high-quality HIV care ad services to those in need, its website reads.
World AIDS Day is recognized annually on Dec. 1 to raise awareness about HIV and honor those we've lost to HIV/AIDS.
"Houston ranks 11th in the nation for new HIV transmissions," according to World AIDS Day Houston. "Over 26% of those new transmissions will be diagnosed with AIDS, and there are 29,643 people living with HIV in the Greater Houston Area."
