HOUSTON — A 17-year-old is dead after police said he was shot and killed by his own cousin Saturday night.
The Houston Police Department said when they responded to reports of a shooting at a home in the 9100 block of Shagbark Drive they found Zachary Jones shot to death.
Houston police said Jones' cousin, Quinten Tyler -- who also lives in the home -- confessed to shooting Jones and said it was an accident.
Police said evidence at the scene appeared to support Tyler's statement of it being an unintentional shooting.
Tyler was arrested and charged with manslaughter.
