High water, flooded roads lead to rescues, submerged vehicles across Houston area, officials says

The Houston area saw another round of heavy rain as some parts of Southeast Texas are still dealing with flooding and high-water spots on roadways.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — The Cleveland Fire Department posted to Facebook around 11:30 a.m. that water rescues were happening on FM 1725 and Highway 105 at CR 3812 off of Pin Oak Rd. It was not immediately known if anyone was injured.

Earlier Thursday morning, Five people were rescued from submerged vehicles in northwest Harris County, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

The sheriff posted on social media about the rescues just after 6:40 a.m. This happened on FM 2920, or Waller-Tomball Road, near Mueschke.

The sheriff said several vehicles were submerged in the water when deputies responded to the scene. Five people were rescued. Air 11 saw three cars stuck in the flooded road at around 9 a.m.

Additional barricades were added to block the roadway.
