HPD: Shots fired at undercover officers who were on drug investigation in northeast Houston

No one was injured in the shooting. Police said the person who did the shooting wasn't tied to the undercover investigation.

HOUSTON — Officers came under fire during a narcotics investigation in northeast Houston Tuesday, according to police.

It happened near the intersection of Wayne and Stamp streets at around 1 p.m. Houston police said two undercover officers were outside of their vehicle when someone unrelated to their investigation saw their vehicle, went inside to get a gun and started shooting at it.

The vehicle was hit three times. The officers, who drove away, weren’t hurt.

The officers put an alert out on their radios and uniformed officers who responded were able to see the suspected shooter go into a home and take him into custody.

At this point, we don’t know the identity of the suspect. If we learn more, we’ll post it here.
