HOUSTON — Now we know that every time there's a big Powerball drawing, we tell you to check your tickets. But you really may want to take a moment to stop and check any tickets you have lying around.
That's because there's a winning $1 million Powerball ticket that was purchased in Houston that has yet to be claimed.
The ticket was purchased for the drawing held on July 19, 2023. It was purchased at a convenience store called Big Shot, located on Bissonnet Street near the Southwest Freeway.
The winning ticket matched all five of the white ball numbers drawn: 7-10-11-13-24, which resulted in a $1 million prize.
The deadline to claim the prize is Jan. 15. If choosing to claim the prize in person, the ticketholder must do so by 5 p.m. on Jan. 12 due to Texas Lottery offices being closed on the 15th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
The prize could also be claimed by mail. The ticket, along with a claim form, must be postmarked on or before Jan. 15 to:
