HOUSTON — A suspicious package forced the evacuation of a building in the Galleria area on Monday night.
According to police, an officer heard a vibrating sound when they opened a package that was sent to the Saudi Consulate General, which has a suite on the 15th floor of the building along Westheimer at Chimney Rock.
The building was evacuated around 7:30 p.m. Police said a bomb squad was called in to check out the package.
Investigators said nothing dangerous was found inside the package and the all-clear was given around 9 p.m., allowing workers to go back inside the building.
