Hotel Derek announces it's closing its doors

In a statement to KHOU 11 News, Hotel Derek reps expressed their gratitude for over 20 years of patronage within the Houston community.

HOUSTON — A boutique Galleria-area hotel will be closing its doors soon.

The Hotel Derek, located at 2525 W. Loop S., announced it will be shutting down in June.

In a statement sent to KHOU 11 News, hotel reps expressed gratitude for the Houston community and travelers who've supported them for over 20 years.

Reps said, in part, "We look forward to witnessing the upcoming transformation; supporting and passing the baton to a brand new hotel soon."

Doors officially close on June 24.

At this time, it is unknown what hotel will take its place.

On June 24, 2024, Hotel Derek will close its doors after over 20 years serving Houston. We are sincerely grateful to the local community for their decades of patronage, as well as the travelers who chose the property as a homebase when experiencing the city. We look forward to witnessing the upcoming transformation; supporting and passing the baton to a brand new hotel soon.
