HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — Three people found dead in a Cypress-area house fire have been identified, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
Investigators said the victims were identified as Kelly Masciarelli, her adult son Kolin Foster, and his girlfriend Cameryn Richard. All three lived at the home. It is unclear if anyone else lived with them.
Investigators said on Sunday they found signs of foul play in the deadly house fire.
This happened on Plains River Drive in the Cypress Mill Park community. The Cy-Fair Fire Department responded to the scene around 7 a.m. Firefighters suspected the fire was arson-related and contacted law enforcement after discovering the bodies.
One of the victims was found downstairs and two were found upstairs, according to HCSO. HCSO said the victims showed signs of foul play and trauma.
Kandy Reddoch is one of the neighbors who came outside when everything started on Sunday. She said someone driving by saw the smoke and tried to knock on the door. When no one answered, they called 911.
Reddoch said she saw when the woman was pulled from the home. Medics tried to work on her, but it was too late.
"Hard and scary and to see that there was no life in her. Was terrifying. I just still see her on the ground," Reddoch said.
Reddoch said she's keeping the family in her thoughts.
"Prayers for them and peace for them and their families to get through this," she said. "[Hope] they find whoever did this. They didn’t deserve this."
According to detectives, some type of accelerant was used in the fire.
Speaking with detectives in the afternoon, they said they had some leads.
"We have been able to secure some evidence and security video from around the neighborhood," Sgt. Michael Ritchie with HCSO homicide told KHOU 11.
The capital murder case is being investigated by the sheriff's office and the Harris County Fire Marshal's Office. Investigators were canvassing the area to gather witness statements and any potential surveillance video.
Investigators are still actively working on the case and attempting to develop a suspect.
