There's a big change with the rings at Galleria-area intersections

On Sunday, the last of the circular intersection signs was replaced. The city hopes to show them off if the Astros win the AL West.

HOUSTON — If you’ve driven around the Galleria or Uptown area in Houston, you’ve seen the floating silver rings that mark major intersections.

On Sunday, the last of the old ones was replaced. We captured video of the change with that final ring on Westheimer Road.

The replacement rings look similar to the originals, but are now lighter, more aerodynamic.

We're told they also have an up-to-date LED lighting system and the city says it hopes to show them off if the Astros win the division.

Right now, the Astros’ magic number to win the division is nine, so it could happen soon.
