A former Baylor University football player was arrested Wednesday in connection to a sexual assault investigation.

Defensive end Shawn Oakman was arrested Wednesday afternoon and transported to the McLennan County Jail, according to KVUE's sister station KCEN. Oakman was a senior in the 2015-16 season.

The alleged assault was first reported by the Waco Tribune-Herald in early April after the newspaper obtained a search warrant for the player. A Baylor spokesperson told KCEN they plan to fully cooperate with any investigation of a student.

According to the Tribune-Herald, the search warrant stated that police were looking for clothing the woman left behind at a player’s residence, earrings, blood, semen, bodily fluids, hair, skin cells, DNA, bedsheets, and other items.

Court documents obtained by the Tribune-Herald said the woman allegedly met the man at a Baylor-area nightclub and he asked her if she wanted to go to his home. The couple allegedly walked to the nearby apartment and the player then allegedly forced her into a bedroom where he sexually assaulted her, the Tribune-Herald reported.

The alleged assault is the latest in a string of string of crimes committed by Baylor football players. Tevin Elliott was convicted sexually assaulting Jasmin Hernandez and sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2014. Hernandez gave permission to user her name publicly in the case.

At least two other women alleged Elliot sexually assaulted them as well. Baylor is facing a Title IX lawsuit over Elliot’s actions.

Sam Ukwuachu a former defensive end was convicted of sexual assault in August 2015. Ukwuachu was sentenced to six months in jail and ten years of probation for the crime.
