Rain plans announced for college football championship concerts in Houston

Shell Energy Stadium, which will host three days of concerts over the championship weekend, doesn't have a roof.

HOUSTON — It's looking like it could be a wet weekend as all eyes in the college football world converge on Houston ahead of Monday's College Football Playoff national championship game at NRG Stadium.

Rain is in the forecast for both Friday and Monday.

Leading up to the game, a series of events will be held around the city, including AT&T Playoff Playlist Live, a free three-day concert Friday through Sunday at Shell Energy Stadium. The home of the Dynamo and Dash doesn't have a roof.

Event coordinators said the concerts will be held rain or shine. So, what can you bring to stay dry?

They said ponchos are welcome and umbrellas are permitted to enter the gates, but once inside, umbrellas will have to be checked in at Guest Services. Guests will get a numbered ticket that they will return when they leave to get their umbrellas.

Coordinators said their teams will monitor the weather and provide updates as needed.
