Coast Guard suspends its search for man who jumped from the Galveston Ferry

After searching through the night, a Coast Guard helicopter resumed its search Thursday, along with several boats.

GALVESTON, Texas - The Coast Guard has suspended its search for a man who jumped from a ferry Wednesday night near Seawolf Park in Galveston.

The walk-on passenger is described as an Hispanic man in his early 30s. He was wearing a cream jacket, green shirt and blue jeans.

The man was on the ferry John W. Johnson when witnesses saw him jump around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday.

The Coast Guard searched for the man for approximately 23 hours and more than 259 square miles before suspending the search Thursday night.
