HOUSTON — Eight boaters were rescued by the Coast Guard on Tuesday.
They were on a sinking boat about 40 miles off the Galveston coast, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
The Coast Guard said it got a call around 4:30 p.m. from a person who was on board saying the 48-foot boat was taking on water.
A Coast Guard helicopter crew, as well as a 45-foot response boat were dispatched to help.
Once they got to the sinking boat, all eight adults were rescued despite 34 mph wind and 8-foot seas.
