KATY, Texas — A young girl has life-threatening injuries after a van slammed into a tree in Katy Tuesday evening.
The crash happened on Commercial Center Boulevard near Westheimer Parkway in Cinco Ranch. Crash investigators believe the driver may have had a seizure before slamming into a tree.
Fort Bend County Sheriff’s deputies said four children ranging in age from 1 to 7 years old were in the van. One child is in critical at Memorial Hermann in the Texas Medical Center. The driver has non-life threatening injuries.
Officials said four victims were taken to the hospital. One person was checked out at the scene.
Deputies said using Life Flight was not an option due to weather. First responders said at least one victim had to be cut out of the car.
